about.

Jorge Oswaldo is a contemporary visual artist who employs a variety of mediums in his practice. He produces both handmade designs and digital incarnations, stitching them together into seamless multi-layered artwork. His frenetically arranged, calculated explosion of visual eye candy finds its roots in the medium of self-adhesive vinyl.

He stitches the tapestry of his own ideas to the familiarity of our current landscape by creating work that instantly gratifies the viewer through a hyper-cluster of seduction. Jorge finds inspiration from other pop artists, street culture, corporate logos and graffiti art. Along with original works of art he creates hand made silkscreen prints, tees, and photographic prints.

He was born in San Salvador, El Salvador C.A in 1979. He earned his MFA in 2004 in Studio Arts from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). He then moved to Los Angeles in 2005 to pursue a career as a graphic artist. In early 2008, he partnered with Skinit.com. Through their extended network he collaborated with Sprint, T-Mobile, Alltel, HP, and BestBuySkins to distribute his digital designs on self-adhesive 3M Skinit skins for technology products. He currently works as a full time graphic designer for Stussy, Inc. His original works are currently being sold through Guy Hepner Gallery in West Hollywood. Along with Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) and the Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA) he is working on a design for a 1,240 foot mural at the LAX Airport.
